Wedding & Event Consultation
An event consultation is a single appointment where a PhillyMedClub physician and a licensed medical aesthetician meet with you together, assess your skin in person, and build one written plan timed to your event date. The consultation is $200, credited toward your treatment package if you decide to move forward. You leave with a PDF roadmap listing the treatments and products we recommend and when each should happen.
Why see a physician and an aesthetician at the same visit?
Most event preparation gets planned by whoever you happen to book with first. If that is an aesthetician, the plan tends toward facials and peels. If it is an injector, it tends toward injectables. Neither is wrong, but both are partial. Sitting down with both at once means the plan accounts for what genuinely belongs to each discipline — and, just as usefully, what you do not need at all.
You choose your provider when you book, and the provider you choose is the one who treats you. Injectables, microneedling and radiofrequency treatments are performed by a physician or our advanced practice nurse. Laser hair removal, facials and peels are performed by our licensed medical aestheticians.
What does the consultation cost?
$200, credited toward your treatment package if you decide to move forward — not toward a single treatment. If you choose not to proceed, the written roadmap is still yours to keep.
Every other consultation at PhillyMedClub is complimentary. This one is not, and the reason is straightforward: you leave with something real. The roadmap lists the treatments you need, in what order, and when each should happen, costed out in full. That document has value whether or not you ever spend another dollar with us. Charging for the consultation is what lets us hand it over completely rather than holding parts of it back.
We do not quote treatment costs in the abstract, because the honest answer depends entirely on how much time you have and what you are actually treating. At the consultation you get real numbers — which treatments apply to you, in what order, and what the plan costs in total — before you commit to any part of it.
How far in advance should I start?
Six to twelve months is ideal. That is not a sales answer; it is how long the treatments actually take. Laser hair removal requires a series spaced four to six weeks apart. Collagen remodeling after microneedling or Morpheus8 continues developing for roughly three months. Anything that resurfaces skin needs recovery built in, well away from your date. Starting a year out lets us use the treatments that work best rather than the ones that work fastest.
What does a typical timeline look like?
Counted backward from your event date:
- Twelve months out — foundation work: skin health, active acne, texture and scarring. A laser hair removal series fits comfortably here.
- Six months out — resurfacing and collagen work, including microneedling, Morpheus8 and laser treatments in series.
- Three months out — a first neurotoxin treatment if you have never had one, and filler if it is part of the plan. Both need a trial run well before the date.
- Four to six weeks out — final neurotoxin, leaving room to reassess at two weeks and adjust if needed.
- Four weeks out, at the latest — the last microneedling or Morpheus8 session. Collagen work needs a minimum of four weeks before any visible difference appears, so a session booked closer than that costs you the recovery without buying you the result.
- Four weeks out — final facial or light peel.
- The final three weeks — no treatments. Home care only, and nothing new.
What if my event is sooner than six months?
Book anyway, and tell us the date when you do. A shorter runway rules out the treatments that need a long series, but it does not rule out much — there is usually still time for the high-impact work, and a compressed plan built deliberately beats a long plan started too late. What is realistic depends on your date and your skin, which is exactly what the consultation is for.
Can the wedding party and parents book too?
Yes, and they should. Wedding parties, parents of the couple, and partners all book their own consultations, and we coordinate the timelines so everyone’s treatments land correctly relative to the same date. Group bookings are available if you would rather come in together.
Parents of the couple in particular tend to come in with different priorities than the couple — skin quality, tone, and looking rested in photographs rather than dramatic change — and those goals usually need more lead time, not less. If you are the mother or father of the bride or groom and your date is inside three months, book sooner rather than later.
Do you plan for birthdays and other milestone events?
Yes. A fortieth, fiftieth or sixtieth birthday, a significant anniversary, a reunion, a gala, a professional headshot or a speaking engagement all work the same way: there is a date, there are photographs, and there is a finite amount of time to prepare. The planning process is identical — we count backward from the date and build the plan around what that timeline can actually support.
Milestone birthdays often come with a longer runway than weddings, because people decide earlier and there is no venue calendar forcing the pace. That is an advantage. It means the gradual treatments are available to you.
What will you not do close to my date?
Two rules, and we hold to both.
We do not treat you on the day of your consultation. The consultation is for assessing your skin and agreeing on a plan. Treating in the same visit means deciding before anyone has thought it through, and that is how people end up with the wrong first treatment.
We also do not perform any treatment within three weeks of your event. Every treatment carries some possibility of redness, swelling, bruising or an unexpected response, and three weeks is the margin we want in order to correct anything that needs correcting. Skincare works the same way — do not introduce a new product in the final weeks. An unexpected reaction two days before a wedding is the one outcome nobody can fix.
If you come to us late and ask for something we believe is too close to your date, we will tell you, and we will tell you why.
What do I leave with?
A written PDF roadmap — the treatments recommended, the products recommended, the order they happen in, and the date range for each, counted backward from your event. It is yours to keep whether or not you book anything further with us.
Why choose PhillyMedClub for wedding and event skin preparation in Philadelphia?
A wedding consultation at PhillyMedClub is a written plan built backwards from your date, not a package. You meet a physician and a licensed medical aesthetician together, and you leave with a timeline covering 6–12 months out, 3–6 months out, 4–8 weeks out, and the final three weeks. We do not perform new injectable treatments within three weeks of the event — that buffer exists so swelling, bruising or an unexpected response has time to settle. The consultation is $200 and takes place at our Fishtown, Philadelphia studio.
Grooms tend to book later than they should, and usually about one specific thing — a breakout, shaving irritation, or looking tired in photographs. The consultation covers all of it at once: a physician and a licensed medical aesthetician assess your skin together and give you one written plan with dates on it.
Most of what we recommend for men is unglamorous and effective — treating the cause of the irritation, sorting texture and tone early, and performing nothing at all in the final three weeks before the date. The PDF roadmap is yours to keep whether or not you book anything further with us.
Wedding skin plans usually get built by whoever you happen to book with first, which is how people end up with six facials and no actual plan. This appointment puts a physician and a licensed medical aesthetician in the room together, assessing your skin once and agreeing on a single timeline.
Six to twelve months out is ideal, because that is how long the treatments genuinely take — laser hair removal runs as a series spaced weeks apart, and collagen remodeling after microneedling continues developing for around three months. You leave with a written PDF roadmap: what we recommend, in what order, with a date range for each, counted backward from your event.
Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I book an event consultation?
Six to twelve months before your date is ideal, because that is how long the treatments themselves take. If your event is sooner, book anyway and we will build a plan weighted toward treatments with predictable timing.
Is the $200 consultation fee credited toward treatment?
Yes — credited toward your treatment package, not toward a single treatment. If you decide not to proceed with us at all, the written roadmap is still yours to keep.
Can my wedding party or family book too?
Yes. Wedding parties, parents of the couple, and partners all book their own consultations, and we coordinate timelines so everyone's treatments land correctly relative to the same date. Group bookings are available if you would rather come in together. The consultation works identically for milestone birthdays, anniversaries, reunions and professional events — anywhere there is a date on the calendar and photographs at the end of it.
