What is BioRePeel?
BioRePeel is a biphasic peel combining trichloroacetic acid with salicylic and lactobionic acids, amino acids and vitamins. It was developed by CMed Aesthetics in Italy. The product we use is BioRePeelCl3 Blue, the US formulation for face, neck and décolleté, which contains 30% modulated TCA. The European product, sold as FND, contains 35%.
The two-phase design is the point: a lipophilic phase that limits how aggressively the acid acts on the surface, and a hydrophilic phase carrying the active ingredients into the skin. The result is a peel that works without the visible shedding a conventional TCA peel at this strength would normally produce.
It is performed by our licensed medical aestheticians, in a physician-owned practice with a physician on site.
Is there really no peeling?
Not none — less. Most patients get some mild flaking around day three to five, the kind that moisturizer hides and colleagues do not notice. What you will not get is the sheet shedding of a traditional peel.
The honest trade-off: a treatment that asks nothing of your week also does less in that week. BioRePeel is a series treatment. One session gives you brighter, smoother skin for an event; a course of three to six is what produces cumulative change.
BioRePeel or VI Peel — which should I have?
They are different tools and the choice is mostly about how much downtime you can accept.
A VI Peel does more per session and asks for a week of visible peeling in return. It is the better choice if you have real pigmentation or texture to address and can plan around the recovery.
BioRePeel does less per session, asks for nothing, and works through repetition. It suits maintenance, people who cannot take a week of peeling, and those wanting to improve skin quality steadily rather than in one step.
If you want to do more still, microneedling works by a different mechanism entirely and does more for acne scarring than either peel.
What does the evidence look like?
Thinner than the marketing, and we would rather say so.
The independent published literature on this specific product is limited, and much of what circulates comes from the manufacturer. The general principle — that controlled chemical exfoliation improves skin tone and texture — is well established. The specific claim that this formulation matches a traditional TCA peel without the downtime is not something a body of independent trials has settled.
That does not mean it does not work; patients here like it and it is a comfortable, low-risk treatment. It means you should treat it as a good maintenance option rather than a breakthrough, and be skeptical of anyone describing it as the latter.
Is BioRePeel FDA-approved?
No. Nor is any other chemical peel — the FDA has not approved chemical peel products as a category, so no clinic can honestly claim its peel is FDA-approved.
BioRePeel is a European product, CE-marked and widely used across Europe and Asia. What determines whether it is safe for you is screening and technique, not a regulatory badge.
Who should not have it?
Not during pregnancy or breastfeeding, not over active infection, broken skin or an untreated cold sore outbreak, and not if you are allergic to any component — the formulation contains multiple acids and vitamins. Recent isotretinoin use is a reason to wait.
What should I expect?
Thirty to forty-five minutes. The solution is massaged in and removed in-office; most patients describe a warm tingling. Skin looks brighter the same day and you can go straight back to work or out.
Use sunscreen daily afterward. A series of three to six sessions, spaced two to three weeks apart, is the usual course, and it pairs well with HydraFacial on alternate visits.
