IV & WELLNESS

Philadelphia, PA

Intramuscular injections — the same substances as our drips, in minutes rather than an hour. Given by a physician or advanced practice nurse.

Vitamin Injections

Vitamin injections — the short version of the drip

An intramuscular injection puts the same substances into your body as an IV, in a few minutes rather than an hour, and at a fraction of the cost. Most of what is on our IV menu can also be given intramuscularly.

Injections are given by a physician or by our advanced practice nurse, the same as our IV therapy.

When a shot makes more sense than a drip

If what you need is the substance rather than the fluid, an injection is usually the better choice. B12 replacement, a magnesium boost, an anti-nausea or anti-inflammatory medication — none of those require a liter of saline and an hour in a chair.

An IV makes more sense when you are genuinely dehydrated, when you want several things at once, or when a slower infusion is part of the point. If you are not dehydrated, you are largely paying for the bag.

We will tell you which one fits. Quite often it is the cheaper one.

What we can inject

  • B12 (methylcobalamin) — the most requested, and the one with the clearest indication
  • Vita-Complex — a B-complex blend containing thiamine, riboflavin-5-phosphate, niacinamide, dexpanthenol and pyridoxine
  • Magnesium
  • Alpha lipoic acid — an antioxidant with a genuine evidence base, best studied in diabetic peripheral neuropathy
  • Amino blend and taurine
  • MIC / lipotropic — methionine, inositol and choline
  • Tri-Immune — zinc, glutathione and vitamin C
  • Ondansetron — prescription anti-emetic for nausea
  • Ketorolac — prescription anti-inflammatory for pain, including migraine and period pain

The last two are the reason this is a different proposition from a vitamin bar. They are prescription medications, selected by a physician for what is actually wrong with you, and they are the ones most likely to make a difference on the day.

Being straight about the vitamins

B12 injection for a documented B12 deficiency is a real treatment with a real endpoint, and people who are deficient feel the difference. Alpha lipoic acid has a legitimate literature behind it, chiefly for nerve symptoms in diabetes rather than as a general wellness product.

For everything else, the honest position is that healthy, well-nourished people are unlikely to gain much measurable benefit from routine vitamin injections. Most vitamins are well absorbed by mouth, and if your level is normal, adding more does not make it better than normal.

MIC deserves a specific note, because it is widely sold as a fat-burning injection. The evidence that lipotropic injections produce meaningful weight loss on their own is weak. If weight is what you are trying to address, our medical weight loss program is the honest route, and we would rather point you there than sell you a shot that will not do it.

If you suspect you are deficient in something, the useful step is testing rather than guessing — and as a physician practice we can arrange that.

What about glutathione for skin brightening?

We do not offer it for that purpose.

The FDA has not approved any injectable product for skin whitening or lightening, and has warned consumers about products marketed that way — glutathione among them. Glutathione appears in our Tri-Immune blend as an antioxidant, which is a different claim entirely.

What to expect

The injection itself takes a couple of minutes, usually into the shoulder or the buttock depending on volume. Some sting more than others; B12 is mild, and a larger-volume injection can ache for a day.

No downtime. You can go straight back to whatever you were doing.

Booking

Book online, where you will see live availability. Injections are quick, but a physician or our advanced practice nurse administers them, so they are scheduled rather than drop-in.

Many patients add one to an appointment they are already coming in for, which is usually the easiest way to do it.

Why choose PhillyMedClub for vitamin injections in Philadelphia?

Your injection is given by a physician or by our advanced practice nurse, which is the difference between this and a vitamin bar. It also means we can offer things a vitamin bar cannot: ondansetron for nausea and ketorolac for pain are prescription medications, selected by a physician for what is actually wrong with you, and they are the ones most likely to make a difference on the day. Where you need the substance rather than the fluid, an intramuscular injection delivers it in a few minutes instead of an hour in a chair, at a fraction of the cost of a drip. We are also straight about the limits — if your levels are already normal, topping them up does not reliably produce more energy, and we will not recommend a weekly schedule you do not need. From $25, booked online with live availability.

For Him

B12 and Vita-Complex are the most requested among male patients, usually for energy and recovery. An intramuscular anti-inflammatory or anti-nausea injection is also available where clinically appropriate — useful for migraine without committing to an hour on a drip.

For Her

Commonly added to an appointment you are already having. B12 is the most requested. We do not offer or market injectable glutathione for skin brightening — the FDA has not approved any injectable for that purpose.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an appointment?

Yes — book online, where you will see live availability. Injections are quick, but a physician or our advanced practice nurse gives them, so they are scheduled rather than drop-in. Many patients add one to an appointment they are already having.

How quickly will I feel results?

If you are correcting a documented B12 deficiency, most people notice a difference within a few days. If your levels are already normal, be honest with yourself about what you are expecting — topping up a normal level does not reliably produce more energy.

How often should I get vitamin injections?

It depends why you are having them. Deficiency replacement follows a schedule and then gets rechecked. Using them as a general habit, monthly is plenty. We are not going to recommend weekly injections you do not need.
